Articles: Robbie Daniel to Auction Block for Olympic Fundraiser

WE ARE AUCTIONING OFF ROBBIE DANIEL!

With the US Tornado Olympic Trials approaching fast, we find ourselves trying to raise the funds needed to pay for the necessary equipment and expenses for Robbie Daniel and Hunter Stunzi to win the trials. At the conclusion of the trials, the winner will be your next Olympic representative at the 2008 games. Currently our goal is to try and cover about $41,000 in expenses that we expect to incur in order to compete in the event, which includes expenses for, travel, living, food, equipment, sails, coach boat, fuel, coaches and their expenses.

One of the things we are doing is to auction off Robbie Daniel. Some of you know Robbie from sailing against him and some of you know him from his coaching experiences. Robbie has a wide range of coaching experience on a variety of boats from small catamarans to large monohulls and live a boards Cats. He has been involved in Olympic Campaigns since 1995 and also has a variety of coaching experience. Currently, Robbie is at the Pre-Olympic Games coaching for the Belgium Tornado team who just finished 2nd at the Tornado ISAF World Championships, with Robbie as their coach.

HERE IS WHAT IS ON THE FUNDRAISER BLOCK

PRIVATE COACHING: We are going to auction off 5, 3 hour sessions with Robbie as your coach to the 3 highest bidders. Coaching can take place in Pinnellas county or Hillsboro or any where you want, but expenses of going outside the designated counties are not included. The sessions can be used in combination with each other. You will receive a Red Gear Racing hat.

Private 3 hour coaching session valued at $400.00.

GROUP COACHING: We will also action off 3, 4 hours group sessions. These can be used by an individual or a group. The session includes 3 hours with Robbie on a coach boat with up to 3 teams participating. Coaching can take place in Pinnellas county or Hillsboro or any where you want, but expenses of going outside the designated counties are not included. The sessions can be used in combination with each other. The bid winner will receive a Red Gear Racing hat.

Group Coaching 3 hour session valued at $700.00.

PRIVATE REGATTA WITH ROBBIE: We will also auction off Robbie to do a race on your boat. Expenses outside the designated counties will be covered by the bid winner. Robbie will do a 2 day regatta coaching camp with you. This package will include regatta instruction as well as off the water sessions before and after the racing. You will receive a Red Gear Racing hat and shirt.

Regatta Coaching package valued at $1500.00

HOW TO BID: We will open the bidding up right away and close it on Sept 1, 2007. We will post progress reports of where the bids are on the web site at www.redgearracing.com .

You can send your bid into funinthesun@juno.com where we will track and post the bids. Tell us if you what you would like to bid on PRIVATE OR GROUP OR REGATTA Package and what your bid is.

Winners will be notified and posted on the web site and coaching sessions will be available starting the end of October.
