H16 jib battens - what line to use to tie them in?  Bottom

  • Hey all,
The 1/8" line I had bought for my mainsail battens works great. It was too big to fit through the grommets on the jib and the jib batten ends. I ended up using some nylon braided string I had laying around. One of my jib battens untied itself last trip out. There must be something better I can use. Any recommendations?

  • Thanks raisehull. I am good with how to tie the battens in. From the knot and rope link, I assume the stuff to use would be the whipping twine? Which one, #8? That seems like the largest diameter, based on it being 75' on a spool instead of the 302' for the #2.
