I have a trap rig, but very rarely us it while sailing Oak Hollow Lake as it's a small lake with very shifty winds. By the time you get out and stabilize it's time to come back in.

    Thanks!

The Weta is a very stable under powered recreational boat built primarily for beginners and those who just want to sail, but not something too tippy with a primary design goal of being fast to rig. As such in any wind less than 15 kts. it's really sluggish compared to most beach cats. It does tack very well as it has a board in the center hull. I troll it as there are some mouthy locals constantly taunting it's performance yet there is no evidence as in documented race performance. I tell them that the boat would be really fast if they would cut the SunFish out of the center or keep the SunFish and get rid of the training wheels. IMHO the boat is a gimmicky and not at all robust. There are Hobie 16s from the 70s still screaming, the Weta won't make it 20 years and/or past the second or third owner before becoming land fill.
