  • imho - they are pro sailors, sailing recklessly without regard for the equipment (easy to do when you don't pay for the boat)

that was poor form to sail through and cut off the surfers, just cause they want to make a video

I agree with the comments below the video

  • Dropping in on those surfers was totally lame. Yeah, they're hotshot cat sailors with company boats but they're reckless dickheads.

  • I don't see reckless in there, I guess you haven't seen the extended version with announcers on the beach and all. Looked to me like both surfers and sailors were having fun.

    Definition of RECKLESS

1: marked by lack of proper caution : careless of consequences
    2: irresponsible

Sailing a cat, with spin out, in the surf, pointing so high that you can't even sail the spin ... only to capsize in the surf, and break a mast...

seems pretty free of care (careless ) of the consequences to me.
  • Any guy that actually paid his own cash for a tricked-out Hobie Tiger isn't likely to roll it sideways in the breakers. I'd go punk dickheads on these.

I suspect the surfers knew the sailors were there. The low-flying, camera-crew-toting helicopter should have been a dead giveaway. And who knows, the sailors may have even asked the surfers for permission to ride "their" waves before dropping in on them?
