G-Cat 5.0 Boom Pin replacement. Check out the pics!  Bottom

  • hey everybody. As you know I broke my boom pin on my G-Cat. I have bought a replacement off a different boat and am going to try to make that work. Please take a look at the pics below. As you can see the new shank is pretty long. If it will slide in and out and bang around to much if I install it this way. Any suggestions on how I should do this? Should I bring this to a welder and have him weld it in? Please help!Thank you all :)

  • It looks like the original was riveted on top and bottom, can the new one be attached the same way? It seems to have the same rivet tabs but would have to match size perfectly to work.

  • Put a sleeve around the pin, the sleeve will be between the back of the plate and where the hole is for the pin (through the boom pin). Sorry i do not have a picture as i have reassembled mine a few weeks ago, sorry. The sleeve should allow a little bit of play but not much, just about 1/4".
  • As Dustin said, or drill a new hole
