My new Hobie 18, any sailors around Tahoe?  Bottom

  • Hi everyone,
I picked up my first Hobie Cat and took her on a test sail at Stampede Reservoir in Northern California. Really fun and I can't wait to sail on Lake Tahoe next summer. I've been a long time lurker so thanks to everyone who previously posted advice! Anyone else here in the Tahoe area?

  • That looks like a pretty spot.
  • I used to go up Ice House and sail on Union Reservoir. Lake Tahoe is huge and cold. It's nice, but you need a wetsuit. Same thing off most of the coast.

  • Gotta say that looks really interesting. At 6200 ft. it's gonna be a little chilly, but sailing mountain lakes is what I do.

And it's only a 20 hour drive from here...
