it looks like it could be a lot of fun and no tip over's

I have sailed Windrider many times and it is my opionion that it is boring. It is best suited for hotel and resort rentals. I wouldn't buy one if you are looking for some excitement, but it is hard to get yourself in trouble on one of these. Damon, is it possible to add a photo in this thread? I have several photos of the Windrider.

Yes, you can include photos in a post by clicking on the Image button, you have to copy the url of the image between
To get the image url from a website using Firefox, right click on the image and choose "copy image location" in Internet Explorer you have to choose "properties" and copy the url from there.
If your pictures aren't already on the web, you can upload them to your own album under "Beachcats People", or you could start a Windrider album in "Beachcats Identification".

Philip some pic's would be great i like the part about not getting in trouble.
how fast is it and how does it go up wind compared to a getaway.
I go island touring fishing and camping in Fl bay.

I'm allready looking to see if I can find a good deal on a used wind rider, there is one on ebay with starting bit of I think $4800 so far no bids but this guy is way up north and shipping would kill the deal. thanks much Philip -

Before you buy I would take one out for a test drive. If you live anywhere near Destin, Fl. there are several available to rent at BayTown, SanDestin. They don't point well, and for the money you can get a Wave or similar. What I'm trying to say is try it out and see if it really fulfill s the goals you are trying to achieve, what ever they are.

Philip I have a Getaway but I would like to buy the wind rider for my teen daughters and friends as we live in Miami Lakes with good size lake in the back yard. the no cap sizing and simple rigging are a plus for me and the kids. -

I need a little help here. I have created a photo album under the identification group but no longer see a simple way to upload a batch of photos. I installed the gallery remote but it doesn't really provide a user friendly upload option. I guess I'm missing something here. I have resized the photos and will zip and email to you. Could you help me put these in the folder?

You can now see a photo album in the beachcats identification folder. The photos will be in an album called Windrider 17 trimaran.

Wow the pic's are awesome I like this boat, cant wait to show the girls if they see this I'll have to buy one for sure.
The boom sticks out about a foot it looks like it could take a wider sail. thanks again Philip.

I have sailed them.... they are ok for rentals... but as the joke goes.. i would rather sail the box it came in!
You might look at the WETA's... much better performance

Agree the windrider is not a fast boat but very child friendly good for the purpose.

I have had a WR 17 for 5 years. Its forte is going out in 20+ knots. I've had mine in 8 ft. waves 24 knots in Lake Erie with no problems. How can you call that boring? Where are the wetta videos in high winds?
How is this for a boring pic? That is not be but some guys in the Scandinavia area.

they are fun in high winds.. but so is a cardboard box :)
kidding aside, they really are fun in 20-25... but i wouldn't spend 4-5k on any rotomold
