Sailing launch recon - Delavan Lake and Lake Geneva  Bottom

  • We took a short ride to check out launch sites at these two lakes in Southern WI. We happened to meet a couple of guys with an H18 and helped them step the mast. Here is a short video of our motorcycle ride and some sailing, shot from shore.

This is the same trip that I reported here:

On the bright side, if you have a major failure on that lake, you can just walk back to shore from one boat to another.

We have wetsuits and the cooler/windier weather is coming. That's when we will go to Geneva.

  • When the cooler weather hits, wear a windbreaker shell overtop your wetsuit. It makes a surprising difference.

I'll try that. I had found that I was hot at 62F, unless I capsized and then it was comfortable. It was comfortable at 54F, and too cold at 45F, though survivable.
