Tornado 20 forestay rigging question?  Bottom

  • What is the forestay connector called, where the male end of the forestay screws into the female end?
not joking...in putting the new purchase together we need to find a replacement for the female end, that actually connects to the bridle out to the amas. I hope that makes sense.

  • sounds like a turnbuckle barrel
  • Appreciate your thoughts, the photo wlrottge posted is completely different, and the female end must be ball shaped so
i don't think it's not a turnbuckle barrel. I took a photo of the ends showing where my missing part goes, but I don't know how to put it on here. Thanks
  • Thanks wlrottge, your photo clearly shows that ours is very different. Mike sorry to say, it isn't a turnbuckle barrel either. the missing part goes through a collar and threads onto the threaded end of the forestay wire. I can send a photo of what I have but can't seem to get it loaded here. I guess I'm just getting old!

Make a photo album here, put the photos in it, and put a link in your post.

  • Check out this link, middle of the page. These are the only two styles that I've ever seen on a Tornado
