Hi all,
Is anyone using the Ronstan Series 60 Genaker Furler with a Code 0/Hooter/Screacher/Drifter? I'm thinking of simplifying my H17 setup (present square-top, super jib, spinnaker to => main + Code 0). On my F25C which I solo 100% of the time, I find the Code 0 more useful than the spin as it can drift upwind in no air and of course moving to this setup on the H17 would reduce launch/setup/retrieval time.

I used the Seldon version of that for a top down furling spin on a Supercat 20 https://www.hydesailsdire…sp?ProductCode=SELDEN-GX. That price includes the top swivel too I believe. You also need a continuous line and the anti torsion cable. The system worked well, and would deploy very quickly and was decently fast to furl. I spin sail was pretty big on that boat so the furling spin was easier than the snuffer i had originally. Not sure that it was the best for racing but was nice for cruising. The sheet loads for furling/unfurling are basically zero. AS for set up time it was pretty quick too. Drop the furled spin and store in a bag
Here's a video of my first outing with it. Basically no wind so it doesn't deploy like it would if there was breeze. My friend borrowed the boat for a race and it was really quick rounding the top mark.

I have been thinking of adding this feature to my boat as well. There is a significant price difference between these two products. Can someone please explain the differences?

When I was shopping the Seldon was a good bit cheaper than the others, but the Ronstan I just looked up seems to be much cheaper and includes swivel, drum, and continuous line. Not sure if I'm comparing apples to apples though. Didn't have time to look too closely.

A quick Web search reveals just the continuous line furler (bottom drum) is under $200. I had planned to have a new Code 0 made with torque line so top down wouldn't be necessary but I would be open to top down Code 0 without torque line as Doyle has introduced a torque lineless Code 0.

If you are on a budget, an old Harken 163 or 165 will do, to make an endless furler:

Harken has just released their own endless version 1134.
On top of the furler is a swivel made of some Dyneema and a Harken sheave. This is the prototype, the correct version will use a Big Bullet sheave:

I use a 6mm Liros Anti Torsion line, but a 3mm 19 strand stainless cable will probably also work.

If you don't have a loose luff than a regular furler will work.
