He has been at the helm of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for two decades, and came to Arizona for the third time last night to talk about sailing and racing sailboats. He is worldly articulate, kind to a fault and very entertaining. There are Leukemia Cup regattas all over the country, year round, and he speaks at some of them still. If you have the opportunity to hear him, I do recommend it. He is also a video producer, and has won Emmy awards for coverage of the Olympic Games in South Korea and the 2006 Volvo Ocean Race.
He showed us six videos last night, one a history of the America's Cup that included Thomas Edison's debut of his new motion picture camera. The Commodore of the New York Yacht Club (J. P. Morgan) was so impressed with the camera he helped Edison form General Electric to further development.
