Dont rely on official parts suppliers for Darts in England or Canada. Canadian rep promised parts and never sent them so we made them up ourselves, tangs, as suggested on this site. I ordered and paid for a Dart 18 forestay(wasnt sure of dimensions, was with my Dart 18 in Fort Lauderdale area(Lake Emerald) or would have had west marine fashion one up. forestay arrived from Britain 5 feet short! Their response was that they sent a Dart 16? shroad /forestay by mistake,but they have not credited me or sent a replacement! i had rigged the cat with amstel, blue in color, line that my sailing "mate" Malcolm Stitt(tornado/& various ice boats)opined is now used on America Cups cats and is as strong as steel. I now sail the Dart 18 in Fla.with a regular stainless forestay. I ordered that amstel line to be carried on all our cats since it can be cut and you can fashion a replacement pronto and sail on safely.
