  • I'm not a member of the Tampa Bay Cat Sailors, but I wanted to post this none-the-less:

One day, I will have my own boat and enter.

Bob Barton is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He is crazy as a loon (x10) and funny as all get out...
this is a great event / cause.

Both he and his wife have beaten cancer and this is the only race i even consider doing. Even if you don't race, its still a great cause and worth coming down to Dunedin just to be around for all the shenanigans on the causeway if you dont race.

If you want to crew.. contact Bob (or me) and we can send the word out you are looking for a skipper to race with.

  • hahah
  • I've never raced in my life, but sounds like good fun for a good cause. So do I need to read up on rules etiquette, etc., or is it more like a "go that way, around that thing, and back as fast as you can" kinda thing?
  • it would probably be best to learn a few basic rules to avoid trouble - (like who has right of way etc) http://www.mastracing.org…ailing_Rules_MAST_R2.pdf

you can also come up to any racer at the skippers meeting (or before or after) and ask for clarification of any rules or questions you may have.
