Basically my question is in the title. Why is it so hard to sell a boat. It seems that the only boat to sell quickly in the classified here was the T2, which I would have loved to bought.
I’m trying to sell my Dragoon, one guy looked for a friend. He happened to also have a Dragoon, but nothing after that. I’ve had a handful of people reach out, but….
It’s an awesome boat and I’d love to keep it, but space has become limited where I currently live. I don’t want to give for a dirt cheap price.
So, what’s the collective thought on the catamaran market?
Why don’t catamaran sell?

Hate to say that Gen Z and even Millennials are MIA and either gravitating to power boats or just not interested in grandpa's cat. Prices are cheap, but the work to launch and moor a catamaran is pretty intensive, and the newer, faster, lighter cats are targeted at a competition market, rather than recreational sailors. I am 71 and need help to lift and set the mast. Most of my catamaran sailing friends are in the same boat. The Beachcats.com site used to be the place for stoke and solutions; now it is the site for spam. I hope Daemon gets the new site online before there are no cat sailors on the water. I hate to harsh the vibe here, but we need some new stoke on a spam-free site.
Your ad looks good and your boat has some really nice kit. Price is more than fair. You should add the production year to your ad as you're competing against boats ranging from the 70s to 2000s, Video is great. The Dragoon is not a boat I have any acquaintance with.

Another thing to consider is storage. Unless you have your own place, you're probably not going to have the space to store a boat of any kind.
Additionally, there are a lot of us who just don't have tons of cash hanging around. I would have liked to have bought a turnkey boat, but it was more realistic for me to spend a small amount on a fixer, and then gradually spend the dollars to bring it up to snuff. Is $2500 a lot of money? No, probably not for many, but I don't generally have that kind of spendable cash ready to go.
Finally - when I was growing up in the 70s when cats were in their heyday, it was easier to live close to water. Nowadays it seems like anything with any proximity to sailing water is prohibitively expensive to buy, as is the case with housing in general.
So are you doing something wrong with your sale? I doubt it. The world has changed and however uncomfortable and irritating it can be, we're stuck with it.
