Wind  Bottom

  • I live in Northern Illinois. It is always windy here. It's flat and the corn does not stop the wind much. We have windmills. I bolted some old brake rotors into our recycle bin because it gets blown over all the time on garbage day otherwise. I can't open the hangar door and garage door at my hangar unless I want a wind tunnel, and blow everything loose around. When riding my motorcycle north or south, I'm often leaning west into the prevailing wind even though the road is perfectly straight.

Until we finish putting together our second H16. It seems wind has been repealed. What is up with that?

  • Winds locally are forecast for 2-6 MPH tomorrow. When nature throws you lemons, the best policy is to toss a worm on a hook into the water. Chances are you will do better than trying to sail.

  • Instead of trying to sail, we have been working on the airplane.

  • Good news: looks like there is wind in the forecast today. 8 mph gusting to 16.

Bad news: looks like there are thunderstorms in the forecast today. Pretty much when the wind is good.

I swear I have not seen a stretch of bad sailing weather like this since I've moved to Illinois.

  • Why not ice boating? Global warming or snow?

Looks like wind is back. I missed today but am taking a co-worker tomorrow. Afterwards I may go solo.
