  • That's Euro's, which is over $6,000!!! I'll have much less than that into each of my 5.2's and the 5.8 fully restored with nearly new everything. And looking like a brand new CAT to boot. Those old NACRA's will sail much better than that thing any day of the week.

  • That thing is pretty cool looking, and it probably folds up to fit in duffle bags.

It does in fact come with "packing bags".

Roller furling & boom vang are standard. You can also get an optional trapeze kit for over 300 Euros.
I bet it is also easy to right!

    Agreed! LOL
if it was $400 It would be a good deal. I can see how packing in your trunk would be kind of neat for a city dweller - but not $4000+ neat

It reminds me of that PVC catamaran - but not as funny.

  • I've actually been looking at these online and wishing I could find someone with some real time experience with them. I I know they are not going to touch a performance cat, but they do fold up into two small (5'X12"12" 50lbs) bags. Other than inflatables they seem to compete with a wave.

The main reason I don't own a cat is lack of storage space and assembly time every time I want to go out. Space being the bigger issue, I can't see owning a wave over a used Nacra, it is really not that much of a difference in space taken up. This boat on the other hand, really addresses the space issue. I travel in the summer and I would love to see a 5.5 Uni bobbing along behind the econoline, but until I figure something out for the other 9 months of the year, I just might give this thing a try.

I think the US price is $4999 or $5499. the US website is www.clickfold.com/contactsmartkatusa.rhtml‎ if anyone is interested.
  • Turn off the sound, the music will make you vomit.
It does have 2 things going for it.
    1) Let's be honest, do YOU have crew like that to help launch?
    2) It is easy to right.
