  • Well it is that time again. Come on down to Ocean Springs, Mississippi and enjoy a great two days of distance racing. We are expecting a fun competitive race again this year. NOR follows:

    “Slip-to-Ship” 2008

    2-day distance race for all multihulls May 24-25, 2008

    Ocean Springs Yacht Club, Ocean Springs, Mississippi

    Race Schedule (Times Subject to Change):

    Saturday:
    8:30 Registration
    9:30 Skipper’s Meeting
    10:30 First Start (Hobie 16)
    11:00 Boats Rated Above .72
    11:30 Boats Rated Below .72

    Race 1 takes you from OSYC to East Ship Island, where you will hang out for a couple hours, eating fried chicken and drinking beer or soft drinks.

    Race 2 starts all boats at once and will bring you back to OSYC.

    Sunday: 10:00 Skipper’s Meeting 11:00 Single Start

    Race 3 is one start for all boats, and will take you around Deer Island.

    All race legs are approximately 14 miles.
    Trophy presentation is directly after the Sunday race, usually around 3 p.m.

    Doughnuts and coffee will be served at breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Lunch on the island after race #1,and Saturday night will be a party with raffle and door prizes, food and memorabilia included in entry fee for racers. Cash bar.

    Early Registration fees: $90 two-person boats, $70 singlehand. (Register before 12 May 08
    Late Registration fees ( after 12 May 08) $120 two-person boats, $90 singlehanded boats.
    U.S. Sailing Members deduct $5.00.
