I have a Hobie 16, but this question is probably applicable to many boats. For a mesh trampoline, what is the lacing pattern? I laced similar to the H16 manual and another online site that shows the lacing for the canvass trampolines. The mesh has more grommets it seems.
When laced, one side of the tramp does not seem to be pulled tight as the other. this seems due to how the lacing in the center pulls on both tramps as it works from mast to aft.
Also, when I go to the aft center, I had allot of line remaining, and with the grommet arrangement, making a triangle did not seem natural.
Let me know your thoughts.

after many years of renovating boats, the biggest problem I always have is with lacing the tramp. Here is a small tip I have learned, try to throw a double-loop when lacing, the 2nd loop will always bind the first loop keeping the tension as you go along, and it's like using 2:1 haul to get your tension, I also keep a couple of pairs of vice-grips handy to clamp on the line if I need to keep the tension, always wear leather gloves. And sometimes you just have to go with whatever pattern you feel comfortable with, but always try for maximum tension on your tramp.

When i had a h16 i had a little tramp lacing "Y" tool that helped you pull the line super tight, and then use a little "peg" to hold the line in the grommet hole so you could move down to the next 2 holes. worked great.
The same can be achieved with a few vice-grips (as mentioned above) but this lacing kit was very handy (and cheap). I just did a scan of the murray's website and cant find it on there. -

I will let you all in on a little secret, but you have to be careful when doing it. I would take 2 tie down ratchet straps and put them around the side rails, ratchet them (this is where you have to be careful) then tighten the tramp lacing as tight as I could get it. Then release the straps. -

I use 1/4" New England Sta Set line and tighten with a tool like this one:
With this tool you will also need at least one (I use two) tapered wooden dowels to wedge between the line and the grommet as you progressively tighten from one end of the tramp to the other. Page down this article to the tramp lacing paragraph.

I loosen my lacing at the end of the season then tighten it at the beginning of the season and usually once during the season. If you use new line, then you will likely have to do a retightening after half a dozen or so sails.
