I sold my 16 about 12 years ago, no time among other reasons. I thoroughly enjoyed sailing the 16, mostly single handed. I'm looking again to buy a Cat and was looking for advice as to what to buy. The 16 was great, but is there something faster, more challenging I should be looking at. There is a 17 for sale near by, would this be a good choice.

mpeace,
Please fill out your public profile at

That info will help others help you, and let us all get to know each other.
If you are planning to mostly single-hand then the Hobie 17 would be a fine choice, if you are not too much over 200 pounds. The Hobie 16 can actually handle more weight than the 17, and you already have experience with it.
Give us more details about your sailing location, and a name would be nice.
