Reply to: Hobie 16 aft tramp frame casting crack
I chickened out on the bonding. Mostly because I don't know what is going to break next. Partly because of time. I have an airplane to finish. It seems Hobie drills holes by hand, using the force. The good thing about this is the old and new holes totally didn't line up, so I just drilled new holes in the crossbeam. I've restored a 1946 Cessna C140 before, and they had good tooling at Cessna. I could drill out wing parts from one airplane and it would rivet right up to parts from another airplane. So, I put the other one on. Done and ready to sail again. Unfortunately wind seems cancelled for the labor day holiday. Would be good to have a spare part if needed.Edited by waiex191 on Sep 01, 2021 - 12:19 AM.
