Reply to: fix cat trax tire with split sidewall?

Now Damon, I am wondering about your set. You have treaded tires but they are mounted on rims - right? I recall seeing Carlisle on the sidewall.
Yes, I think there have been three generations of CatTrax, the first with the one-piece tire/rim/needle-valve, then they went to 8 inch aluminum rims with real valves and treaded ATV tires, then the smooth treadless tires. I did some Googling to see if there were any alternatives. The Cheng Shin tires you had http://www.cedarrapidstire.com/category/8708/cheng-shin-smooth_slick-tires Another place that has them a little less, $51.67 http://www.smalltires.com/products/cheng-shin-smooth-nanco_30-151.cfm?categoryID=465d0f76-c041-40ee-84c0-58e2fcc88dd2 Some Nanco tires the same size, also $59 http://www.highwingllc.com/tires.html Those Nanco tires on eBay for $32.99 (but $25 shipping) http://cgi.ebay.com/21X12-8-21-12-8-21x12x8-A-2-N800-SLICK-NANCO-30151002-/170637296051 Same Nanco tires (N800) from Tires Unlimited ($48.51 bottom of the page) http://www.tiresunlimited.com/nankang_atv_tires.htm When I was looking around I found these things used for lawn mowers, ATV's, and even experimental Airplanes!
