Performance Catamaran to Supply Youth Multihulls Catamarans

Added by damonAdmin on Mar 05, 2007 - 01:18 PM

US SAILING, national governing for the sport, and Performance Catamaran, one of the top multihull boat builders in the U.S., have signed a two-year agreement to provide Nacra SL16s at the U.S. Youth Multihull Championship in 2007 and 2008. The selection of the SL16 is in line with the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), which has named the SL16 the multihull boat for its Youth World Championship. The 2007 U.S. Youth Multihull Championship will be held March 29 - April 1 and hosted by Alamitos Bay Yacht Club in Long Beach, Calif.

Under the new partnership, Performance Catamaran will provide ten new SL16s at the 2007 and 2008 U.S. Youth Multihull Championship for use by the competitors at the events. Registration for the 2007 U.S. Youth Multihull Championship will open by February 1, 2007. The U.S. Youth Multihull Championship, established in 2001, is an open event (no pre-qualification required) for young men and women who do not turn 19 in the year of competition. Winners of the event are presented with the Arthur J. Stevens Trophy. For more information on the Championship, please visit www.ussailing.org/championships/youth/multihull.

VMI to provide assistance/parts to all US BIMARE owners

Added by damonAdmin on Sep 01, 2005 - 05:29 PM
It is well known among US multihull enthusiasts that in April 2005 Vectorworks Marine Inc entered into an agreement with Bimare to be the licensed builder in the United States of the XJ A class catamaran.

Now, a few months later, the first XJs made in the USA have started to be delivered.

Class and formula racing catamarans need constant attention and development to remain not only competitive but to deliver the utmost reliability and satisfaction to their owners. Continued advances in design, materials, and like technologies are not often within the reach of most cat sailors even if they had the time. VMI has already begun working with a few US top catamaran helmsmen and sailmakers for the continued development of the XJ. Then working jointly with the factory in Italy, also striving to continually improve the package, we are confident that this relationship will keep BIMARE/VMI boats at the forefront of the A class worldwide.
