Homemade Cat Trax

I saw a post about using NorthernTools dock wheels for beach wheels and decided to share what I came up with. I have been using these for 4 years and there are a few more sets in our club too. I will add some dimensions to the pics soon but this should give a general idea. As jfricker stated, rthe holes aren't 2 inches and I used an 8 ft piec of 6061-T6 alum tube for the axle and just took a belt sander to the outside 2 ft on each end until it fit the wheel and it's all good.

The axle is 6061-T6 alum tube, 1/4 in wall, 8 Ft long. It's 2 OD won't fit wheel so I took a belt sander to the outside 2 ft of the axle and just worked it til it fit nice.

Be advised as these are dock wheels, there are holes to allow them to fill with water. They can be plugged using PVC plgs for 1/4 in pipe. I took some polyethelyne sheet and "welded" it with a soldering gun to seal mine.
