Front beam, you can see that these early model 5.2s did not utilize the 1/2 moon shaped beam chocks (they fit inside the beam, & bolt through the beam, downwards into the hull. They prevented rotation of the front beam. This older model used a tube running down the center of the tramp, riveted to the front & rear beam to prevent rotation. I believe the early 5.0s were built the same way. Later models utilized the beam chock.
