This shows the jib sheet coming forward to the jib clew from both sides to meet in the middle. They straddle the mast. My clew blocks are tied to a short piece of 3/16 line on each end with a bowline then I have a Stainless carabiner hook I use to attach to the jib clew because I'm lazy. The book says to pull a loop through the clew then the block ends back through the loop. I like the quick connect as I do not have a furler and I can hand furl on the beach easier.
