Gin pole used on F18HT, which is a little odd, as this mast is raised opposite of most cats, which have the mast laying aft across the tramp. But this one benefitted from having the ability to lay the mast in the trailer's mast cradle to begin. Like all

shows the initial position for raising. Note that with this pole the mainsheet is used for purchase, it's secured at the pole tip, and tied to the center of the rear beam.

shows pole position when mast is raised, once the mast is near vertical the mainsheet runs out of travel, but you can just reach up and grab the pole and pull it down by hand the rest of the way. Tie off temporarily while securing the two side shrouds.

This pole is used on a Reynolds 21, the cradle at the mast has a pin that goes all the way thru the cradle and mast, very secure. A trailer winch is bolted to the gin pole just fwd of the mast.
