Partial deck torn off by over stressing the side stay likely due to too much weight while sailing in high winds. Pictures show repair

After re-attaching deck section at hull/deck joint the deck tears have been reglassed with 3 layers of glass cloth including a layer of carbon fiber.

Original equipment side stay anchor system. Rod goes below hull deck joint. Short length and hull/deck glue may have contributed to failure.

Mixed polyester thickened with fibers to fill the gap between the hull deck joint. Clamped till resin hardens. Any voids in joint can be repaired later.

Direct view of missing deck area. Inside of joint area was built up with chopped strand to help fill gap. This is also the area that the thickened resin was applied to.

Strengthening of inner hull and missing hull lip with layers of fiberglass cloth and carbon fiber. An aluminum plate of 3" by 4" was placed as well in case there is a need to use a chain plate instead of the typical side stay anchor rod.

Deck area to be reattached. Manufacturere used a gap filling material, maybe 'elephant snot' to bond the deck to the hull.
