This is a shot of the down haul on the front beam. The previous owner used carabiner on everything. the two blocks on the end is just the jib sheet blocks. I did not want to loose them.

2 mysterious cables that stretch clear across the middle beam of the cat. It connects to the bottom of the beam with a twisted shackle, goes through the downhaul bracket in the center, and hangs loose on the other side...

I believe this is the down haul for the jib. the jib comes down to a block on the center of the front beam. the previous owner had it tied offf on the port side front beam. but he was an idiot. I reset it as shown such that it is adjustable while sailing.
