H16 jib traveler upgrade

Both of my old Hobies have the old style traveler, where you have to pull a pin and slide it in the rail, and then lock it down again. I went through my junk collection and with the exception of the traveler cars and one swivel cam cleat mount, I have everything I need. Here are my pulleys riveted on to turn the traveler control lines 180 degrees from the jib car:

I've also ordered a new jib halyard from Murrays. The old one was fraying. We noticed it during the last sail.

And for all you guys on the injured reserve this year - I threw my back out something fierce a couple of weeks ago. Hoping I'll recover. No way was I sailing this past weekend although it looked pretty good.

Also, here is a joyrider TV video on the subject:

Here is the port swivel cam cleat for the jib sheet:

And the starboard side:

For those who want to try this at home, the center of the swivel mount is 24" from the casting. The front of the swivel mount is in line with the forward side of the traveler track.

We are going to design and either 3D print, or CNC mill little mounts for the traveler control line cam cleats. For those cam cleats, I'm going to recycle the ones from the old style jib travelers. Here is my kid's CNC router that he built:

The new jib halyard is in. Nearly killed myself (hyperbole warning) coiling up the old one. Lots of sharp pokey bits. Glad my kid noticed on our last sail.

My kid designed a fixed bullseye and cam cleat mount for me. Here is the first one on his little CNC router that he built.

Fit check - looks good. The cam cleat was from the old style traveler.

Ok guys, this project is done for the moment. I find that sitting in the hangar with the mast down, I can't get the lines to cleat in. Is that because we need sails pulling on them? Or do I need a better angle between my stationary bullseye & cleat? Note that I put the bungee on after I took this picture.

When the 77 died a spectacular death, would you say it was in decent shape? I have a 16 with some soft spots and I live in fear of this, I bought a 14 to use while I try to replace my hulls

The port hull, which was the one that failed, was by far the worst. I have the original starboard hull on my current frankenboat and it is the best hull. 85 lbs, no soft spots, and the sides don't crunch when you stand on them for righting.
