Article about Cats in Sailing Scuttlebutt

I wrote an article about getting kids on catamarans for Sailing Scuttlebutt. Hope you enjoy it.

Great article! I bet it's a joy to work with those young folks on the water. Did they recover from burying the bows in the last picture? icon_smile
Kevin, that's an excellent piece, and the pictures add a million bucks to it. You just can't do any better than showing a pair sailing reasonably seriously, or half a dozen kids just messing around and having a riot on a bulletproof boat, wings on or off. Good work.

QuoteEditor’s note: We echo Kevin’s sentiment, but expand it further for the next generation of sailors to be aware of all the options in the sport. As great an experience scholastic sailing offers at the high school and college level, it is a segment of the sport that ends with the diploma. The sooner young people find what they can enjoy in the sport as adults, the more likely they are to stay in the sport beyond the school years.

I'm new to sailing but I read that as the establishment looking down on the beachcats scene. Great article!

I guess sailing monohulls is good too. It is like real sailing, only slower.

Ouch! Touché

But, have to agree. The point of the article seems to be to concentrate on what the kids REALLY enjoy. That is what truly sticks.
