Hello,

What is the small diameter blue rigging with an internal bungee cord for in the photos? The white bungee is internal to the main crossbar and the blue is external going from side to side exiting each main beam end cap. The manual actually shows this blue line in the background of photos regarding other things, but never attaches it to anything. I'm assuming it is to restrict the movement of the self-tacking jib, but I'm not sure how, or why.

Depends on the individual who rigged it, but more than likely it is the retrieval bungee for the downhaul. The blue line with the sister clips is just there for storage when the mast is down. It would be removed.

The bungee should be double length with a turning block mounted to the inside of the beam cap. You want to replace that bungee regularly.

If not the downhaul, it can be used for mast rotator, jib sheet, etc.

I found the paragraph in the manual that references the "Downhaul Retractor Kit" and following the enclosed directions(?) in the kit bag. So this bungee is just to take up the slack of one of the many lines that end up on each side of the tramp?

Like Philip said, the blue line is so that you can disconnect what ever line you have connected to the bungee when the mast is down or spin pole is off the boat. I have my jib sheet connected to mine, rotator line is a continuous line that is not removed when mast is down and downhaul is run to trap. The bungee helps keep what ever you have tied to it from getting sucked into the spin blocks.
