Just a thought.

I just got over 8,000 views on this Hobie Wave video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fUEa7FRpCA

I think Hobie should give me a Hobie T2 so I can give it some FREE video advertising. Just a thought. I love my Hobie Wave!

Image Is Everything!!!
That's a very well done video, especially liked the way you mixed in real water sound with music in some parts. Most sailing videos I watch, I wish the just left in the sound of the water and sails, that's music to my ears.

MN3can i ask why you like the wave so much?

The Wave is easy-to-rig & almost indestructible & in wind 15 to 25 mph it's so much fun to sail solo. I have no plans to get a fiberglass cat, for extreme speed I go windsurfing.
cool, thanks for the reply

We have a Hobie Wave at the Rudder Club we use for our junior sailing program. It is a great little boat, practically indestructible. We have crashed it into the dock, sailed it without plugs and it hardly notices.

Can you set up a trap for solo sailing?

You can add a trapeze system to your Hobie Wave. Complete with wires (pr), return bungee system, lines, blocks, locks and dog bones. Wave kit includes adjustment lins with internal shockcords and hull attachment hardware. I think it is only used for training kids on how to use a trapeze system.
Guys, you gotta check these people out from Nantucket.

OMG!!! I would love to know how that girl came away from that jump. Looks like some definite broken ribs and maybe some knee injuries to boot. Does anyone know?

Fine? There's no way she came away from that without a broken or sprained something. I crashed during a bike race quite a few years back. I broke 2 bones in my hand, my acromion (shoulder), and seriously bruised some ribs. When I stood up from the crash the first person to respond asked me if I was OK... My response was "I'm fine." I was not, and I can't see how she was.

If she really was fine, she would be on heck of a crew. icon_biggrin

Amazing! OK, a closer look at the slo-mo looks like she took a crotch shot from the hull, maybe inner thigh, and I see that she hit her torso on the PFD. The other crew had his hand right at the spot of impact. They were both very lucky.

It's still a great video.

creative, just trying to understand your obsession with number of hits on your video, is there some sort of reward?

I personally have always enjoyed the creativity of your videos, very well put together, you are obviously well associated with St Louis Sail & Paddle judging by the link on their website to your u-tube video, why not price the T2, sell your boat on this website and purchase that cat? Looks to be a really nice boat, perhaps even negotiate a deal with them on a price for the T2 based on number of hits on their website?...... icon_biggrin

As an artist the goal is always to have as many people see my creations as possible. That is the reward. It's just that simple.

Nice video! I want to put something together using my Gopro and your video gave some ideas for camera angles/shots. I assume you're using a Gopro? Just curious - did you use the stick-on mounts on your hulls and if so did they stay on?

I have used them on my cat. NONE lasted permanently

the best location was on the front hull about 1' forward of the main beam - it was a good angle and easy to access to unscrew and turn the camera around - make sure you have a lanyard - it's coming off

next best was on the bow - use a lanyard - its coming off quickly

I liked the angle from 5' up the mast, but the spin halyard made lots of noise, next time its going on the other side
