It's a bit of a hollow victory for me. Very impressive and fun to watch, but you'll never sail one. I guess for me the Sailing part is the real joy of sailing.

I love watching that boat! Hoping that the foiling technology makes its way into the 20 footers like the curved foils that are now so popular. I might never get a chance to sail one but amazing boats like th AC72 and AC45 are nothing but good for the sport. Raising it's profile and giving me something personally inspiring to watch!

just like auto racing, the improvements in technology trickle down to consumer products.
i.e the nacra carbon 20 and 17 have lots of modern technology and can be purchased without a second mortgage

The development was done by world renowned designers, Melvin & Morrelli for hulls, Niels Bunkenburg, A cat guru for the foils, Performance Sails for the rig & sails combined with the in-house knowledge at Nacra.

I know what you're saying. I do a bit of auto racing myself.
