Afterburner catches fire

Not literally, but it is a good video of what it takes to do over 20 knots on a catamaran.

Had a drag race with Afterburnner once on my 5.8 NA It was perfect conditions for both boats a screaming beam reach..

We were block to block on the main, double trapped, planing one hull like a surfboard, and the other just skimming the water - optimum conditions. After a few minutes AB made some adjustments and walked away from us at a brisk pace.. A few minutes after that while trying to catch them we were cartwheeling across the ocean. It wasn't a pitch pole, from what I remember the boat just lifted up and went crazy...kind of like this redhead I dated in college.

When I got home that night I loaded the GPS track into the and saw some amazing speeds for the run and right before we wiped it clocked 26 MPH.

Writing this still brings a smile to my face.
