GoDaddy.com Outage Takes Down TheBeachcats.com

Today if you weren't able to access this site it was due to an outage of the GoDaddy.com DNS servers. From news reports it was a successful hack that took down millions of sites either hosted by GoDaddy or where the domain was registered there.

Pretty amazing considering the breadth of their infrastructure. Everything appears back up, but various geographic areas could still be dark.

Who noticed? If you can't read this right now, let me know. icon_lol

its just the internets protesting GoDaddy's stand on SOPA
godaddy sucks!
i used them 2 years ago but they couldn't handle ASP include files and their support sucked big donkey parts

i still utilize them for some small sites (which were down yesterday) but wouldn't ever use them again for a new client or site
Yep, one of my sites was down too.

I have had a few errors trying to log in today

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 77 bytes) in /home/thebea13/public_html/includes/DBUtil.class.php on line 575

have i mentioned godaddy sucks ass? :)
The errors today didn't have anything to do with GoDaddy, it was database cache issues.

Despite the problems earlier, GoDaddy DNS performance and administration tools are the best I've used.

Now I've never heard much good about their hosting, I don't use that, but imagine it's no better than most low priced shared hosting. All the biggies cram as many domains per shared server as they can, so you are at the mercy of what else is going on with the other thousands of sites on your same server.

The only way to avoid that is having your own dedicated boxes so you know what's going on inside them.
