Hobie 16 Hull Thickness

My Hobie 16 is not even a year old yet and already I've worn through the gelcoat on the hull bottoms, the fiberglass is showing through. How thick is the fiberglass and at what point do you consider a bottom job? Does it make sense to have the gelcoat restored over the winter?

i don't know the measurement, but it is quite thick at that part. i think you are at least a decade from bottom job. the gelcoat always wears off quickly there. me personally, i would not worry about the fiberglass showing, mine has been showing for the last 25 years. with that said, you are using beach wheels right?
