Bunch of Hobie 16 sails for sale!
Tequila Sunrise set - EXCELLENT shape!! have a few small repairs, colors are bright, material is nice. I would replace all the batten pocket protectors and some of the rivets in the clew and tack plates need to be replaced. SOLD
jib only- classic 'Flamer' pattern from 1975. It has been made from the lighter weight Dacron Hobie used about that time and the fabric is still in great shape!! The colors are sharp--I didn't see much fading, if any. Several of the batten pockets will need to be repaired at the grommets where they rub on the mast when tacking. One batten pocket protector is missing, but I will include an extra one. It also needs the small grommet at the clew. $250
jib only-Blue Hawaii pattern from 1983. The material is in great shape and feels pretty stiff. There are some professional repairs (see pics) with matching colors and white patches on the batten pockets where the sail rubs on the mast when tacking. The hardware is all in good shape, I would reattach the jib stay wire to the tack and then adjust the tension with the line at the top. $300
Jib sail only-REALLY NICE 'Tequila Sunrise' pattern from 1978. It has been made from the heavyweight Dacron Hobie started using about that time and the fabric is still crisp and in great shape!! The colors are VERY sharp--I didn't see any fading. The Green at the bottom is strikingly dark, I usually see dark colors like that faded. It has had some tape repairs at a few of the batten pocket protectors but they are minor and can be covered with Dacron tape to make them look better. I only saw one very small hole in the top panel (see pic) and it could use some re-stitching in a few places. The hardware is in excellent shape. This is about as nice of a classic sail you can get!!
