Description: Bunch of Hobie 16 sails for sale!

1984 Tsunami or 84 Nati0nals pattern. The material is in great shape and shows very little fading if any. The hardware is in decent shape, but the plates on the foot of the main need to be re-riveted. This is a used sail, so it shows some wear and has some small stains, but they are in overall excellent condition. There is some wear on the jib where it rubs on the mast while tacking, but I did not see any spots where it wore through. There is one place at the batten protector where the batten poked through but with proper batten tension, that shouldn't be a problem. There is the typical wear on the bolt rope from rubbing on the sail track (near the foot). $300

jib only-Carumba! pattern from 1980. The material is in great shape and feels pretty stiff. The colors are pretty sharp as well, but there are some minor stains and fading on the sail. There is very little wear on the batten pockets where they rub on the mast when tacking! The sail has never had to be repaired and it needs nothing! The only issue is a cut in the window plastic. $500

jib only- classic 'Flamer' pattern from 1975. It has been made from the lighter weight Dacron Hobie used about that time and the fabric is still in great shape!! The colors are sharp--I didn't see much fading, if any. Several of the batten pockets will need to be repaired at the grommets where they rub on the mast when tacking. One batten pocket protector is missing, but I will include an extra one. It also needs the small grommet at the clew. $250

Main and jib set- 1973 Light Blue/Dark Blue pattern. For being almost 45 years old, they are in excellent shape!! The only issue I saw (besides needing a serious cleaning) was the reinforcement patch on the bolt rope needs to be replaced or could be hand-sewn.
These sails were taken care of and gently used. There is very little wear on the batten pockets both at the pocket protectors and where they rub on the shrouds! They have never had any repairs and they don't need any now! they were put away many years ago and something dripped on them to give them the stains. That is a hate because they are really nice old sails. The colors look pretty good and have faded evenly. There are some stains in both that are brownish/black and look like dirt or maybe oil. They should clean up since they are not rust. there are some other random small stains on the sails. $400

Main and jib set- 'Gonzo' or 1981 Hobie Nationals pattern. Brown/red/yellow. The material is crisp, there are no holes or tears and all the hardware is in great shape! There is a professional (closely) color matched repair in the brown panel below the Hobie 'H'. The only issue with the sails is wear on the bolt rope on the main where it rubs on the sail feeder. This is a typical problem and it easily repaired. $500

jib only-Blue Hawaii pattern from 1983. The material is in great shape and feels pretty stiff. There are some professional repairs (see pics) with matching colors and white patches on the batten pockets where the sail rubs on the mast when tacking. The hardware is all in good shape, I would reattach the jib stay wire to the tack and then adjust the tension with the line at the top. $300

Jib sail only-REALLY NICE 'Tequila Sunrise' pattern from 1978. It has been made from the heavyweight Dacron Hobie started using about that time and the fabric is still crisp and in great shape!! The colors are VERY sharp--I didn't see any fading. The Green at the bottom is strikingly dark, I usually see dark colors like that faded. It has had some tape repairs at a few of the batten pocket protectors but they are minor and can be covered with Dacron tape to make them look better. I only saw one very small hole in the top panel (see pic) and it could use some re-stitching in a few places. The hardware is in excellent shape. This is about as nice of a classic sail you can get!!
