Diamond Lake - Cassopolis, MI USA

Wind Conditions: Fair
Water Conditions: Excellent
Launch facilities: Good
Beach conditions: Poor
Traffic conditions: Excellent
Safety: Poor

Charges: public access

About the place:
In SW Michigan, between Kalamazoo and South Bend, IN. Just off of route 60. It's not a huge lake, but it's one of the largest inland lakes in Michigan. Usually a steady wind from the South or Southeast. Public access on the south end of the lake, or one of the marinas will charge about $3. Diamond Lake Marina has mooring for lead-sleds. This lake used to be the largest H-16 fleet in MI. Alas, many of the sailers have "grown up." Diamond Lake Yacht Club now races MC's every weekend and juniors race Butterfly/Sunfish, but there's always some Hobies out there to show them how fast they SHOULD be going!
