About the place:
While decreasing water levels are frustrating, New Mexico's largest lake still has plenty of sailing opportunities. Year-round sailing, no winterizing and ever present afternoon winds make up for the navigational challenges. Just off I-25 in south-central New Mexico, about 2 hours from either El Paso, TX or Albuquerque make it easy to find. In the off-season months, sailors own the lake as the power-boaters and PWC's have retired until next Memorial Day. Happy Sailing!!
