There is a small protected beach at the mouth of the channel, behind the breakwall, but this area is heavily populated by jetskis. Boat landing is prohibited along many other areas of beach (check with cities of Ventura, Oxnard, and Port Hueneme.) If you are in the mood for more casual sailing, the harbor is extensive, and provides plenty of space for crusiing and site seeing. Parking at launch facility can be crowded on weekends.
