About the place:
Located near the lighthouse in Ostend, the beach club offers all facilities (storage, transport to the water, showers, ...) to all catamaran sailors. The OSRC is well known for its excellent organisational talents as far as competitions are concerned (Last year organiser of the Europeans F18 en Belgian Open Multihull) Not only the regatta's themselves but also after-sail activities are well looked after which makes every event a family event. There are approx. members and 100 catamarans of which most of them are Hobie 16's and Formula 18's (Dart Hawk, Mattia Flash) Belgium offers 62 Km of North Sea coast where Ostend is right in the middle. Wind directions are mostly SW with average wind speed ranging from 15-25 knots and wave heights of 0.5 to 1.5 meters Temperature in summer months averages 22°c with a water temperature of 17°c.
