About the place:
Directions From 101 exit on Seaport Blvd, turn left on Chesapeake. there is a one mile channel to get to the bay, and you are usually facing the wind: It's way easier to come back! Once in the bay, you have plenty of space, tons of wind during the summer (15-25 knots everyday starting at 1:30pm). There is a lot of water activity during the WE, mostly sailor with big monohulls, but I've seen some regular cat sailors: 3-4 H16, a H14, a Wave, a Nacra, a H18. Almost no PWC, and the ones here are usually helpful (e.g. "I've seen this boat there: they are in trouble. Do you have a line I can use to tow them ?" -- True sentence from a PWC driver!) One minor note: watch for the tide! You want high water and you want to look for currents here. (Have you ever seen a 16 downwind, 30 knts of winds, and 7 knts of current ? It's fast!). It's possible to sail with a low tide, but you have to know where you are going. If you need a crew/want to crew in the area: drop me a mail.
