    J. Scot,
I replaced my forstay on the P16 with a roller furler listed in
Murrays. The pigtail was slightly shorter but was still so long that
I had to let the forestay turnbuckle out to the max and still could
barely take the wrinkles out of the jib. I don't know yet whether
that will leave me with to much rake. Let me know if you discover
any ways around the issue. Good luck with it.
    Bill

together, mast on supports on trailer. looks excellent. rigging
is next challenge. converting jib forestay to roller furl and
building a new boom are final steps. after all the nice design
features of p-16, what made them make a boom out of a piece of mast
section? helmets should be mandatory for anyone sailing p-16 with
the factory boom in place.... an A-cat style boom is on the work
bench. hoping to sail at island hop this weekend....
