Since we started living on the water and the BadaBing started living on
a floating dock I have become very lazy about pulling her out,
trailering her 2 hours, draging her down the beach and setting her up,
then doing the same thing back home the day after. Doing the Statue
race was a hoot but I guess Im spoiled now.

    So we'll not be attending.

Here is the plan for this 4th.
Jenn (our daughter who introduced us to cats) and her friend will be
joining us around noon on the 4th. I'll have already launched
Unchained Melody (30' Tartan) on the 10AM high tide and she will
waiting just outside Big Creek on the hook. The 4 of us will dink out
to her and then take a leasurly trip through the ICW and out Absecon
Inlet. Well sail off shore till 6:30ish then drop a hook about a half
mile off the Atlantic City beach where we will cook dinner and relax
till the big fireworks show. After the show well do a night trip back
through the ICW and across our bay. The tide may or may not let us
return to dock. If not then the boat will spend the night on the hook
and we will dink in. On Saturday we will sail the BadaBing and
Unchained melody 2 on each if the weather permits.

Last weekend Katherine and I did a Friday night to Sat night trip.
After clearing the inlet we just pointed east and sailed about 15 miles
off shore (12.5 KtM)then turned back around and came back in. saw many
many dolphins and one big shark then cought 5 bluefish that I
    released.

When trips like this are so easy to do and done almost wvery weekend
its very hard to get motivated to shlep up to the race. BUT it IS a
    HOOT! if you do it.

btw. this year should be a blast, high winds predicted. Could be a new
    record year.
