Thanks to all that replied, it's appreciated.
I was not aware of a few of the things mentioned and I'll look into
them. My desire is to do the wiring once and be done with it.

The submersible LED lighting kit, on sale at Harbor Freight, that
John S. mentioned, is still on sale thru July 7th. I might get that
kit too, because there are no bulbs to replace and no sockets to go
bad.
As for waterproofing the wiring splices, I'll let you know what I use.
