    Primary reason to reef the H16 sail is to lower the center of effort.
    There are times when having sail aloft is just too much to hold down
    with the crew weight available.

    That being said, we have sailed with a reefed main on the H16 on a
    number of occasions. The thing to keep in mind is that the boat is a
    dog, and tends to wallow (i.e., not having enough power to skim the
    tops of the waves, it climbs up and down them.) Also, tacking is a
    bear. And, personally, when the wind kicks up enough that I have to
    reef, I DO NOT like to jibe. Personal preference, but I hate that boom
    slamming over and the imminent pitchpole feeling.
