2007 Cat Caper Regatta, Birmingham Sailing Club (BSC)
The Cat Caper is a great fall open regatta traditionally held the weekend closest to Halloween. For many beachcat sailors it marks the end of the sailing season and a time to get together for some great lake sailing and swap lies about the past sailing year. The members of Birmingham Sailing Club make their club and grounds available to the visiting catamaran sailors including convenient tent camping spots, showers and dressing areas, and full kitchen where they provide a Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday night.
Following dinner the sailors cut loose for a hilarious costume party that never fails to entertain, some really get into it and bring along elaborate and creative costumes, others just improvise a costume on the spot. Whatever you do, you will have a good time.
If the weather is a little cool at night the club has a great big fireplace in the clubhouse to gather around.
