Those are cute, whoever is selling must have searched for 3.5 pictures, they are using one from the photo albums here in their pictures that shows a 3.5 sitting on top of a Hobie 14.

  • I saw that boat on ebay a few days ago and first thought it was a H14. When and where were these made? I've never heard of the 3.5. Looks like something that would be used as a promo or display piece for a dealer. Really neat little boat.

Edit: sellers discription says these were made from 1975-1979, and were basically made for youths.

there are several micro cats for utes' (youths)

    mystere 3.5
    nacra 3.5
    hobie 3.5 and bravo

I would love a fleet of mystere 4.3's for 25 knot racing
  • Has to be less stable than a Hobie 14 which is saying something. I wonder if utes would be less intimidated with the smaller size.

the kid i know who had a bravo would intentionally capsize and do front flips off the hull as it capsized. There was no fear in his mind.

I would think kids prefer little boats (compared to trying to sail a big boat), and don't think about stability (unless the boat feels unstable)
