2013 REDFISH REACH REG ATTA, TEXAS CITY DIKE
October 5h and 6th 2013

Texas City Dike Yacht Club & DIVISION 6
The Texas City Dike Yacht club invites all catamaran classes to the balmy waters of Galveston Bay
for the annual REDFISH REACH REGATTA. This is a ‘low’ frills event and promises to deliver the
TCDYC spirit of adventure, hospitality and friendship. Conducted under RRS (Racing Rules of
Sailing) 2013-2016
Venue: Texas City Dike, Texas City, TX 77590
Format
There will be two distance races. Race the first will be the traditional race around Redfish
Island. Race the second
will be another distance race. The course for the second race will be shorter. It will be decided
on Sunday morning and will depend on conditions. Scoring will be the combination of the two
distance races.
The traditional hull flying contest will be held after the distance race on Saturday. A separate
trophy will be awarded for the
hull flying contest.

10:30am Start of second distance race.
Directions
From Hwy 146 or I45 take FM1764 Palmer Highway East all the way through Texas City until it dead
ends at Bay Street. Take a right on Bay Street and immediate left at the traffic lights. Continue
to stop sign at the rise in the road (less than ¼ mile). The Dike is dead ahead. Carry straight on.
The speed limit is 25 mph and is enforced vigorously. After around 4 miles the beach expands to
your left. Set up your boat on the beach anywhere you like.
Registration/Fees
Registration will be Saturday morning 8:00 to 9:30. Sailing instructions will be provided at
registration.
Single handed boats $15 and double handed boats $25. You can pay on line on our website or in
person on the
beach.
Facilities / camping
There are limited facilities on Texas City Dike. We will have a camping
permit so bring your RV, tent or tramp.
