Description:
The 8+8 is a 26 year-old event hosted by the Grand River Sailing Club in Grand Haven, MI. It is a fun event that self-starts at the Grand Haven pier, reaches out around a committee boat stationed 8 miles to windward, and finishes leeward at a mark by the GH pier. There are no registration fees for non-members. Visit the GRSC website for details. http://www.grandriversailingclub.com/ Last year we had 3 H18s in the "multihull fleet" - so created because the year before we smoked the monos so badly they had to create a special division for us. There is a party afterwards at the clubhouse, downtown Grand Haven.Skipper’s meeting 9AM, GRSC Clubhouse. Multihulls’ start usually between 12-1 PM. Party at 6 PM. Overnight beach parking available 1/2 mile south of the GH pier. Options for putting in include launching from the GH Harbor Island Launch Site (nominal fee) and sailing a mile out the channel, or sailing south from Muskegon.
